WATER RESOURCE ENGINEER

Job Details:

William J. Miller Engineers is seeking a motivated civil engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work on challenging water resource civil engineering projects from conception to completion. Work assignments encompass hydrographic data collection, CADD, assist with preparation of construction contract documents, construction observation, and report preparation. In addition to engineering work, the successful candidate will assist with general office work including maintaining survey equipment, coordinating field vehicle maintenance, and assisting with administrative tasks. This position requires overnight travel and fieldwork in remote and rugged locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or other related engineering degree from an accredited program. Certification as an Engineering Intern (EI) or ability to obtain certification within one year.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil3D.
  • Ability to interpret and develop construction plans, specifications and contract documents.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct fieldwork.
  • Comfortable working in and around rivers and water bodies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office products.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • One-year related engineering work experience.
  • Experience using GIS to perform geospatial analysis and mapping.
  • Survey experience operating RTK, leveling, and total station data collection equipment.
  • Construction observation and project administration experience.
  • FAA Part 107 UAS Remote Pilot Certification.
